BT Changes Free Evening Call Time
BT has decided to change its free evening call time schedule. Many of its customers have opted for plans that include free calling that begins from 6 pm. onwards.
This special package allows callers to make and receive free unlimited calls from 6 pm to 6 am in the morning. BT has decided to push back the time of the free evening call package by one hour. According to the new timing customers would be able to make and receive free calls from 7 pm in the evening till 7 am in the morning.
Though these changes would take effect from the April 1, 2010 BT has already started informing its customers about the change. In an effort to make this transition smooth and ensure that its customers are well informed about the changes BT has sent out a notification of the changes to its 10-million customer base. These customers are the ones that have the free evening calling bundled into their packages.
BT said that it believed that this change would be in the customers favour as normally people sat down to chat and have personal conversations after 8 pm. in the evening. Apart from informing its customers about the change in timing the notification also talks about changes in tariff for those consumers who had not subscribed to BT’s Light User Scheme, In-Contact Plus package and the BT Basic package. Customers would have to pay an additional 0.5p per minute as prices would change from the current 5.4p per minute to 5.9p per minute as per the notification.
